About the Role
On Command is seeking a professional, motivated dog trainer to join our team. This role includes conducting private lessons, training dogs enrolled in our Board and Train programs at our facility, and leading Day School training sessions. We are looking for someone confident with clients, skilled with dogs, and committed to producing consistent, high quality results.

This is a career position for someone who takes pride in their work and wants to grow within a structured training company.

Primary Responsibilities

Private Lessons
• Conduct one on one training sessions at our facility and in clients homes
• Develop customized training plans based on each dog and owner’s goals
• Clearly educate owners on structure, handling, and follow through
• Maintain professional and productive client relationships

Board and Train Programs
• Train dogs enrolled in structured Board and Train programs at our facility
• Work on obedience, behavior modification, and real world application
• Track progress and maintain detailed training notes
• Conduct transfer lessons to ensure owners understand and can maintain results
• Follow company standards and training systems

Day School
• Train dogs enrolled in structured Day School programs
• Implement daily training plans focused on obedience, impulse control, and social skills
• Communicate progress clearly to owners at pickup
• Coordinate with team members to ensure consistency and quality

General Expectations
• Communicate effectively with clients and staff
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized training environment
• Represent On Command professionally at all times
• Continue developing training skills and knowledge

Qualifications

• Professional dog training experience preferred
• Strong understanding of canine behavior and learning theory
• Confident handling dogs of all sizes and temperaments
• Comfortable working with leash manners, reactivity, and foundational obedience
• Excellent communication and teaching skills
• Reliable, self motivated, and team oriented
• Ability to work evenings and some weekends
